About Us
Castro & Associates is an independent consulting firm specializing in Human Resources. The firm was established in San Juan, Puerto Rico. After a successful 18 months there, and in response to a growing demand for our services, the business was relocated to the Atlanta, GA area in 1995, and again in 2005 to the Nashua, NH area. We are available to assist your organization on an as-needed basis when (a) you don't have the means to staff a Human Resources Department on a full-time basis; (b) you have the need for specialized services, or (c) you need help on a temporary basis.
Tony Castro, Co-founder and Managing Director, of Castro & Associates, has been associated with the hospitality industry for over 35 years. Upon graduation from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration, he went to work for Marriott Corporation, and had three “careers”: Food and Beverage (Restaurant Manager), Human Resources (Corporate Director of Employee Relations), and Hotel Administration (General Manager). In addition to Marriott, he has worked for Hilton International, Renaissance Hotels, Starwood Hotels & Resorts, El Conquistador Resort, an independent luxury inn, a country club, and various restaurants, including Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse.
Tony’s career has taken him throughout the US, to Mexico, and to the Caribbean. Castro & Associates, a 100% minority owned and operated organization, was established in 1994.
Consulting assignments have included developing recruiting strategies; identifying cultural differences; designing, developing and facilitating a Proactive Employee Relations seminar; assisting in the production and voice talent for several videos in Spanish; conducting employee opinion surveys, as well as wage, salary and benefit surveys; co-directing a union-avoidance campaign; evaluating the HR function of a country club; facilitating a benefits open enrollment process in Spanish; innumerable translation assignments including a union contract, an auto insurance policy, employee handbooks, safety and procedures manuals, as well as an audit conducted by an insurance commissioner. In addition to all the training Tony facilitated while with Marriott, Renaissance, and PML Associates, he has been certified as a trainer by Wyndham Hotels and Resorts and Homestead Studio Suites Hotels.
